About Us

William K. Pope, O.D.
A 1994 graduate of University of Houston, Dr. Pope served as a Staff Optometrist at Brooke Army Medical Center before returning to the Houston area in 1997. He and his wife Wendy took over this twelve year-old practice in 1999. Since then, they have evolved Parkwood Vision Center into a family-oriented progressive practice. Special attention goes in to making each exam a personalized experience, solving your individual visual needs.

Wendy G. Pope
Wendy is the practice manager as well as frame buyer. It is her “behind-the-scenes” work that keeps the practice running everyday. She is invaluable to the operation of Parkwood Vision Center. For years she was the only other person involved with the practice, and knows it inside and out.

ADM Seymore Clearly
The Admiral has been a loved member of our staff since 2004 after he stowed away on the HMS SUBURBAN. He has had a hard life, losing a leg, a hand, and an eye! Now, he quietly stands in our lobby watching over us. He lost his leg when an alligator bit it off while he was fishing. He lost his hand, which is replaced with a steel hook, to a shark. Then he lost his eye the very next day… “Twas da first day wid me new hook!” Come by and see for yourself or chat with the Admiral live online (here).

Our Hobbies

When not working at Parkwood Vision Center, Wendy and Dr. Pope are avid boaters, campers and enjoy spending quality time with their three children: Mariska, B.J., and Caroline. They also are active members of the community, working with organizations like the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Education Foundations, Lighthouse Charity Team and the Friendswood Historical Society.
