Tyler Kvinta, O.D
Therapeutic Optometrist
Tyler Kvinta, O.D. is a Therapeutic Optometrist and dry eye specialist. He earned his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Texas at Austin in 2017, and his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2021. He became interested in optometry because he had always been very nearsighted as a kid, and an optometrist gave him the gift of clear vision. He grew up going to an optometrist regularly and he wanted to give back the same gift of sight he received.
During his clinical rotations, Dr. Kvinta gained experience in a wide variety of practices. His first, at a private practice group in San Antonio that focused on the management of ocular disease diagnosis and treatment with a focus on diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. He then did a rotation at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, providing eye care for our active duty and retired service men and women. Following that, he spent two years near his hometown in Victoria, Texas where he worked in private-practice optometry where he focused on advanced dry eye management and myopia management – something he plans on continuing in Friendswood.
Through these experiences, Dr. Kvinta has gained important skills and grown as an eye care professional. He is excited to be back in the greater Houston area to serve the community and provide the highest quality eye care. To Dr. Kvinta, the best part about being an optometrist is meeting lots of new people and caring for them and their families as the years go by.
